Abel Electric and Our Family of Companies
Abel Electric is one of three companies started by Joshua and Pamla Vandusseldorp. Abel Electric wires homes and buildings, Abel Builders builds homes, and Abel Ministries helps men rebuild their lives. Each one has its own team and its own website. What ties them together is the mission behind all of it: to make disciplined followers of Jesus Christ.
If you've hired Abel Electric anywhere from Phenix City to Columbus to Auburn, you've already met part of the family. Here's the rest of it.

Why We Do What We Do
Abel Ministries
Abel Ministries gives men rebuilding their lives a place to live and a one-year path forward in Salem, AL. The men work and earn real money, learn a trade they can keep, and grow in their relationship with God.
Second Chances Built On Work And Faith
Everybody needs someone to believe in them before they've proven anything. Abel Ministries is for men coming out of prison, addiction, or homelessness who are ready to start over and need a real chance to do it.
For one year, they live with Abel Ministries. They work alongside our Abel Electric and Abel Builders crews, earn a real paycheck, and learn a trade they can build a life on. Along the way, they grow in their faith with people walking the same road.
We don't see it as charity. We see men doing the hard work of rebuilding their lives, and we get to work right beside them. It's the clearest picture of our mission, and it's why faith and work sit side by side at every Abel company, starting with the morning devotion in our warehouse.
How the Companies Work Together
Men in the ministry help staff these companies.
Each Abel company runs on its own, but they lean on each other. Abel Electric wires every home Abel Builders builds, from rough-in to trim-out, so the builder and the electricians already know each other's standards and schedules.
Men in the Abel Ministries program are part of the crew. They work on Abel Electric and Abel Builders job sites, learning a trade while they rebuild.
Taking Care Of Our Own
The family shows up for our own team, too. Abel Builders builds custom homes for Abel employees at cost, so the people who wire homes all week can own one of their own. Through our Employee Care Program, Abel employees can also request a spot in the Abel Ministries Recovery Program when they need it.
